Quite simply, we have the best MRI machine in the entire area. Period. It is a brand new GE Pioneer 3. We want you to know what makes it so great. It’s simple…
The Size of the Opening
The opening is 74 centimeters wide. This makes it much easier for claustrophobic patients or those that are just uncomfortable in tight spaces. Most other MRI machines are only 50-55 centimeters. Therefore, we can accommodate patients up to 550 lbs. But everyone will find that it is far less “closed in” than they are used to.
The Length of the Machine
Our scanner is shorter. This means that in many scans, your head will be completely out of the scanner. This also makes our machine far more comfortable.
The Time It Takes
Because our MRI is so advanced, the scan times are very short. Total scan times can be as low as 5 to 10 minutes instead of 30 minutes to an hour, which is what you can expect elsewhere.
The Resolution and Image Itself
Most importantly, our machine is an ultra-high field, ultra-high definition MRI. This allows our experts to see much smaller items in much higher resolution. That means whether it’s a micro tear in a tendon or an early cancer, we can offer the earliest detection possible in our region.
Why This Matters To You
Comfort and quickness is nice. But with medical equipment, detail and accuracy is critical. Our MRI can see down to the molecular level. This can help you and your doctor come up with a treatment plan to beat your ailment at the earliest stage.
Why This Matters To Us
It was Dr. Milanick’s decision to invest in the absolute best scanner on the market. It is the highest field strength allowed in clinical use. We never want to tell anyone in our own community that we did not find a tear in their tendon, just because it was too small to be caught on our “cheaper” scanner. We never want to tell a family member that we missed their cancer and found it too late just because we did not invest in the technology. That will not work for us.
